A 2nd July Finish :)

Well I did it!!!!  A second finished project for July:)

This wall hanging is a BOM from 2009.

Sure is feeling good to see the UFO stack decreasing in height.

The rest of this weekend will be used for card making

and maybe a little scrap booking.

A July Finish!!!!!!

WOOHOO!!!!!  I actually have a July finish:)

These blocks are from a block swap over at Friendship Blocks Group.

The theme was Novelty Blocks... so the center block was to be some type of food.

Too much fun, don't you think???  I think this will be a wonderfully cute

wall hanging or table topper for my kitchen:)

And the best thing about this finish is that I actually received the blocks

on July 9th (Yes, of this year) and finished it on July 29th. 

That has to be a first for me...

receive the blocks and finish them in the same month, I usually don't

even get them finished in the same year...LOL!!!!!

Shhhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone, but I'm going to let you in on a little secret,

 I may even get another finish in for July.  How awesome would that be?

It isn't blocks from this year, but a finish is a finish, right?  No one said

a finish had to be started and finished in the same month, much less the same year :)

PIFs Sent & Received

I received my wonderful PIF from Terry at Terry's Treasure this week!!!!

She made me one of her beautiful bags, and sent me 3 Fat Quarters and 3 skeins of embroidery floss, plus a siggy.  How Awesome is that????  I had seen the bag on her blog and loved it, but had no idea that I would be receiving it.  Talk about making me happy!!!!  I was oooing & aaahhhing and happy dancing all over the place...it was really quite a site, probably best that it wasn't seen.

I also sent out the PIFs I owed, and they have now been received, so I thought

I would share pics of them too.  These wall hangings are from a McCall's pattern

that I borrowed from my dear sister-in-law. 

Here is a close up of one, you can tie a small pair of scissors on at the ribbon, and there is the place for pins and needles.

I really enjoyed making these...I will probably have to make myself one, too :)

July Secret Pal Gift

My wonderful Secret Pal has once again spoiled me to the max!!!

She sent me that cute little Spool Pincushion and the beautiful Needle Keeper.

A wonderfully pretty box of quilt-looking note cards with tea pots on them, and some very yummy gummi bears :)  I just Love those little bears. 

 A bottle of Pampered Chef Sweet Mocha Hazelnut Sprinkles,

which I can tell you is absolutely scrumptious on Vanilla Bean Ice Cream!!!!

The very pretty fabric heart, which is hanging on the wall over my sewing table.

And she sent the Ice Cream cone filled with bubbles for my grandkids to blow

bubble for me :)  Too sweet of her to think of them.  Many thanks to her.

And all of those gifts were wrapped in the Christmas fabric...Christmas in July!!!

Can't wait to find out who she is...just a few more months.

The pretty yellow one is from Irena, who is in the Czech Republic.

I really love collecting these little jewels, someday, when I have about 100 of them,

I will put them all together to make an awesome "Around the World Siggy Quilt".

Latest Greeting Cards

These are the latest cards I have made.

The first one was for my oldest grandchild...

Can't believe she turned 13!!!  My Oh My, where has the time gone?

I truly remember her birth like it was only yesterday.

The next one was for my youngest grandchild.  He celebrated his 6th Birthday, so much for being the "baby".  He is a Toy Story lover, so his card had to reflect that:)

And this last card was one I made for a card swap group.  So it was a just for fun card.

News From My Gardens

I wanted to share some of the latest pictures

from my flower garden.  A lot of these flowers

were not suppose to come back up this year, but like

me they have a stubborn streak :)  And they reappeared!!!

In my last post you saw all the baskets of corn, well I am now done with corn!!!!

Happy Dancing here:)  I have 50+ quarts of corn in my freezer...

that will taste soooo yummy this winter.

Moving on in the garden, this picture is yesterday's pickings.

Some will be going in the freezer and some will be going in the tummy.

Ummmm...My Weekend????

I'm thinking this weekend will be filled with C-O-R-N!!!

What do you think?  Each of those totes/baskets are 12 - 16 gallon in size...

so I will be putting up corn ALL WEEKEND!  Now, this is just the first picking, yep there will be more.Probably another 3-4 pickings like this.
 Of course, I will be sharing with some

family and friends, but I will be putting at least 50 quarts in my freezer:)

Last weekend was green beans and zucchini. 

Won't be long until the tomatoes & peppers will be ready.

If you don't hear from me this week....well now you know why (LOL)
Oh, next week is also county fair judging week and the opening of the fair.
How does that affect me....I'm a 4H leader!!!
