Weekend project

Went to JoAnn's last week,
needed to use my coupons
and take advantage of
sale prices!!!
Here is part of what I brought home.

 I love to embroidery, but just haven't
done any for quite some time, so...
I bought some new transfers and
plain towels.  So this weekend
I decided to get a new kitchen towel started and finished.

Well here is my finished project.
The rooster looks a lot like my Richard :)
Thinking I will be doing more
embroidery in the very near future.

Terry

What's Been Going On Here...

The view from my back door.
The Fall colors are beautiful,
and the cool, crisp, clean air is amazing!!!
We even had some frost last week.

This morning I went out to feed and found
these adorable little babies in the small barn.
Yes, more kittens...we had planned to get Miss Ivy fixed
but we did not get it down before she came back in heat.
I believe a visit to the vet will be her Christmas gift.

And here are a couple sewing projects I have done...
The Mug Rug above and a reversible apron below.

But mostly I have just been enjoying the beautiful Fall scenery and weather!!!

Blessings,
Terry

Friday Night Sew In...

For the last 3 Friday Nights I have been
taking part in a 24 hour Sew In.
I belong to a Facebook Group and every Friday night from 7 pm
until Saturday night 7 pm we group members get on Facebook and sew,
and share pictures and do a little chatting.
This group has been a great motivational tool for me.

Here are some of the things I have accomplished so far:

I have 3 Kids Cuddle Quilts done.

Several Kids Cloth Story Books.

And of course the Sew In wouldn't be complete without
a snack...my choice is a coke, Hershey's Chocolate and Peanut M&Ms
Doesn't get any better than that!!!

Hope everyone has a Blessed Weekend.

Hugs,
Terry

Another Finish

 About 2 years ago I was in group that offered a Redwork Bible Verse Block Swap.
Above are the 3 blocks I have from the swap.
They have been keeping company with my many UFOs in a tote
ever since.  Oh, they are one of my newest UFOs.
 I have some that are 10 -12 years old!!!
2015 is the year to get that UFO tote down-sized.

So these 3 blocks have now been transformed into
1 small decorative pillow  and 2 wall hangings :)

Nothing real intricate or fancy, but
I am very happy with them.

Now to visit the UFO tote and pull out my next finish.....

Terry

More Crafting

This is a little wall hanging I made for a swap in June.
I found the pattern in this year's August/September issue
of McCall's Quick Quilts magazine.  It is called "Poppy".   I was pleased with the way it turned out.  I wanted something to represent the theme of "Gardens".  Hoping the lady that received it was pleased :)
Next are the Paper Pieced items I made for a swap
 on a Scrapbook Swap Group I belong to.
My favorite is the raccoon.  Made them all with the Cricut :)

Doll Quilts, Mug Rugs, Wall Hangings, Gift Sets

 Here is the little doll quilt I made
for the March swap at Doll Quilter's Monthly.
The March theme was animals.

                                                       Close up of the embroidery work.
                                                           Haven't done any for a while.
                                                            I forgot how much I like it :)

                                                    This is the doll quilt for the April Swap.
                                       We were celebrating the group's Birthday with this swap.

                                                I made these little mug rugs for my sister-in-law.
                                              We swap mug rugs each month.  Lots of Fun!!!

                                              This was a wall hanging I made for a swap.
                                                The lady I made it for likes red & white.
                                              So I used her colors and my favorite blocks.

These are a couple of gift sets I made for a Kitchen Swap
at the Country Scents Snail Mail Group I belong to.
I appliqued the pictures on the towels, added a little decorative stitching
and made the recipe cards.
The dish cloths were made by dear my sister-in-law:)

Happy Stitching to All,
Terry

Quilting News....

ROW by ROW SWAP

These are my rows....All mine!!!
Aren't they beautiful? Everyone did an Awesome job,
I love them all, the ladies & the rows.
HUGE "Thank You" to Angela, Carol, Pat, Cindy D, Cindy F, Linda.

This was the most wonderful swap I
think I have had the pleasure to be a part of:)
I will definately be joining this again next year!
And once everyone else get their rows back,
I hope to post pictures of their quilts, too.

I'm thinking I will use a dark chocolate brown
to add a narrow strip between each row and also
a narrow boarder...Then I will need something for
a wider second boarder...any ideas????

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next is my Fall/Halloween Mug Rug.
I'm not a Halloween gal, but the lady
I am sending to is, so I made her this
little happy pumpkin with candy corn
 for the swap:)  Hoping she likes it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And finally a block I made this past weekend for a
quilt making & book study, that just started.
 I have tried to do this study before, but it didn't go
to well :(  Hoping this time around will be better.
The Quilt Group is called "Women of the Bible", as
is the title of the book.  We will study one woman
of the Bible each week and make a quilt block to go with her.

Our first woman is Eve and this block is called Garden of Eden.
The group owner is Carol Honderich.  She is also the
designer of several quilt patterns and owner of  Patterns of Faith.

Wish me well on this project.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fall weather and cooler temps are here so I'm guessing
I will be posting much more quilting & sewing projects.
The garden of 2012 is now a thing of the past,
which gives me much more sewing time :)
Thanks for stopping by,
hope you come back real soon.
Hugs & Blessings,
Terry
