Last Week's Business

The past week has been a busy one around here.
Not only did the kittens arrive, right on schedule,
we also got the garden plowed and planted.

I planted the garden last Saturday.
I checked today and all the seeds I planted
have popped up, so I have baby plants too :)

***********
Next we worked in the big chicken barn.
Dear husband put together a larger roosting ladder.

And we built a much better nesting box area,
multi-level and more boxes.
Of course I still have 2 chickens that
think they need the same box at the same time!!!

**********
We are getting ready to enlarge the goat pen.
Need to make room for the 2 new arrivals :)
Little Ebony is showing that he can stand up to
the big guys, so that introduction is going well.

**********
This year's new chicks are growing like weeds.
I should be able to add them to the rest of the flock
in 2 -3 weeks.  Then they can get "schooled" on who is
in charge in the big chicken pen.  LOL

**********
Then there is Miss Blackberry who has been busy herself...
getting that nesting box all ready for her new babies :)

***********
This coming week we should be able to get the new goat fencing up
and some weeding done.  And since school is finished, I am hoping
to get plans laid out for a yard sale and some inside the house work done...
maybe some painting and carpet shampooing...

Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

Newest Arrivals

Last Saturday I went out to the goat barn
and found Miss Ivy with her five new babies.

Then on Tuesday I went to check on the kittens
and found that Baby had four kittens and the two
mommas had combined their litters????

I went on Wednesday and found that Baby
was caring for all nine!!!

Then on Thursday I found Ivy with all
nine......

Later on Thursday I found both Mommas
with the kittens, yes each momma had her own kittens!

So I guess we have a Kitten Co-op Nursery
going on here, LOL

Next to be born are the baby bunnies.
Blackberry has made her nest and pulled
fur to line it with, so it should be anytime...

Have a Blessed Weekend.

Cinnamon & Oreo

Went to visit our other baby goats yesterday.
They are absolutely adorable.  Our little girl is
named Cinnamon and out little boy is Oreo.
These two are part Nubian so they will
be a larger than the Pygmy goats,
but everyone should get along just fine.

We are only bringing home the goats...
The dear husband has put his foot down
No Llamas, or Alpacas, or Horses, or Donkeys!!!
Trust me, I tried to talk him in to it,
especially the Alpaca and Llamas, but it was a firm "NO"
We should be bringing our little goats home in another 2-3 weeks.

So I will be content and very thankful for my
chickens, goats and rabbits.  And we will see
what the future may bring...

Have a blessed weekend.
Hugs,
Terry

Happy Mother's Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day,
either as the Mom or visiting with your Mom.

My day was very nice, calm and peaceful.
Dear husband and I worked in the yard between visits
from some of the kids.  And my dear children
were great to me...I received some nice gifts, cards and
some lovely phone calls. I also received
4 butterfly bushes, which planted in the yard :)
And I was able to have a great conversation with my Mom.
Great Day, Thank you to all my children, Love you All.

Drum Cake

These are cakes that my daughter made for
a friend's little boy's Birthday.
 Pretty talented I think.

He even had his own personal drum cake.

New Backyard Baby

A huge welcome to Miss Ebony, who came to live us today.
She is our newest backyard baby, a pygmy goat.  She
looks like a little calf.  She was running and jumping everywhere.
So much fun to watch.  The older goats weren't very welcoming,
so Ebony will live with the baby chicks until she gets a little bigger.

Hugs,
Terry

My Backyard Animals

I have added some décor to the Mini Farm.
We have some flowers and a couple handsome
Roosters standing guard and a nice rock path instead
 of mud and muck :)

Above is Miss Bobbie Sue.  There always seems to be one new chick
in each year that is just a little more people friendly than the others
and Bobbie Sue would be this year's new "pet" Chicken.

The four above have not been named, but I'm sure
the grandkids will take care of that very soon!!!
If you remember, we started off with
9 new chicks this year...well we only have 5 now,
a fox got the other four a couple nights ago :(

Latest pics of our 3 little goats, Spitfire, Ellie Mae, and Darby.
These 3 are quite entertaining I  must say, you just have not
experienced life until you have danced with a goat!!!
Looking forward to the arrival of 3 more new goats,
hopefully our all black will get here this week, and
then our black & white one and cinnamon brown one
should get here sometime in early June.

And last, but definitely not least is Ivy.
She is really enjoying the warmer weather and
napping in the shade.  Our other little kitty, Baby
is either off hunting or hiding in the goat pen.

I am hoping that everyone gets to spend some time outside.
It has been perfect weather here for about the past week.
Really wish it would stay this way all Spring and Summer.

Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

Youngest Grandson's Birthday

Today was our youngest grandson's 3rd Birthday.
We actually celebrated his birthday with him last week...
Because he got to spend this past week celebrating with Mickey Mouse
at Disneyworld in Florida!!!!

He is such a sweetheart, love him to pieces.
He is all boy and is always going, going , going!!!!
But we did get him to stop long enough to get a
Birthday picture with Grandma :)

Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

Changes Around the Homefront

It has been a busy month around here.  Finally got the baby
chicks moved outside.  Didn't think it was ever
going to get warm enough for them to move out.  They
seem so much happier...I know I'm happier - No More Dust!!!

And since it has warmed up, our attention has turned to the outside also.
We decided that rock is better than dirt and mud.  So we have been
digging out and leveling and dumping rock by the truck loads!!!

Here is our driveway area before, during, and after our efforts.

We ended up getting 4 of those huge truck loads of rock...
Still need to get 1 more load in order to finish this project.

Our rocking project also went around to the backdoor area...
and then to the front flowerbed.
I cut the size of the flower bed more than in half,
it was just too much for me to keep up with.

Hoping this will be a little more manageable

So happy to have this much done.  We have some more rocking projects in mind,
so there will be more to follow...

Hugs,
Terry
