A Walk Around My Yard...

Thought I would share a few pictures
from around my yard.

This little guy is a daily visitor.
He seems to be very partial to doughnuts
and peanuts.

Flowers from around the house. Most were from late spring.

This is what the front flower bed looks like now.
The lack of rain is taking it's toll on the flowers,
they just aren't spreading as usual :(  Looking for some
more flowers to add this weekend.
Plan to add a variety of colors of Mums in the Fall.
Hoping for some much needed rain for them
as well as the fruit and veggie garden...

Used the tiller in the garden Saturday and felt like I in a dust bowl!!!
I have been watering and thankfully everything is growing:)

And of course my walk would not be complete
without checking in on the raccoons...

Here are a Momma and 1 of her 3 babies...
ummm, little camera shy today :)

Thanks for stopping by.
Hoping everyone finds something special
to bring themselves joy each and every day.

Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

What Happened to the Month May?????

Oh my gosh, where did May get to?
Here it is June 12th and I haven't posted anything about May...
And May was a busy, busy month around here!
Fasten your seat belts and hang on...here we go.....

May 3, 2012 gave us our 10th grandchild.
A beautiful baby boy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then on May 19, 2012
our youngest was married.
She had a small wedding with a little larger
reception celebration following the wedding.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

 I did get a few stitches sewn...

Summer themed Mug Rugs.
Love the fat bottom beach ladies,
they make me laugh every time I look at them:)

Two quilt blocks for a Quilt Block Lotto!
This is going to be a monthly Lottery style
block give away at one of the groups I'm in...
Fun Fun Fun.
Different block each month.

While on the subject  of sewing,
Here is the wonderful gifts from my
Awesome Dear Jane Secret Pal.

She always does such a wonderful job of wrapping my gifts.  Sometimes it is very hard to open them, because I just love took look at the bows and paper:)
But I do of course always open them!!!  And they always bring me great joy.  This month I was blessed with 4 wonderful sunflower fabrics and the cutest little fabric bags and several pieces of very yummy chocolate :)  And one of her digi cards that I really look forward to receiving each month.  Love my Secret Pal!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And, Yes I did get paper crafting done too.
First off I finished my niece's wedding invitations,
all 300 of them :)  I can't share those yet though, wouldn't
any family members getting an early sneak peek.  LOL
But I will share my card swap creations:
This is a Tee Pee card.  Lots of fun to make:)
ATCs  and a male fishing themed card.
Travel themed card.
Build a Sketch card on the left.
And a new technique card on the right.
Okay that's all my May stuff...
I think!!!!
Hope everyone has a wonderful week.
Thanks for stopping by.
Terry
"SEWING UP" April...
Good-bye to April.
Thought I better finish up my April posts,
so here is a little of this & and a little of that.
First is the April Dear Jane Secret Pal gift
that I received...I actually  received it a couple weeks ago,
but I forgot to share.
Beautiful fabric, which is actually double the size shown.
I may need to share this with some near and dear
to me, who also has chickens in her kitchen:)
Now to figure out what to make, ummm...
Another super great Red Barn pattern, and
a wonderful April digi card:)
I am so blessed to have such an awesome Secret Pal:)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Next is a picture of the my design wall with
the blocks from the Red & White block swap
of which I was participant....

I am considering black sashings and borders
for this one...thinking that black will really make them "pop".

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My April Mug Rug
These are so addictive to make
and soooo very easy & quick.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Take & Go Sewing Kit
and
Needle Case

I have wanted to make this sewing kit "purse" for about 3 years now.
Ever since my Secret Pal made one for me .  (Thanks You Susan)
Finally I sat down and did it!!!  The envelope needle case I have made before.

Here they are open.
I am trying to get a "Gift Stash" created.
So when I need a gift quickly, I might have one on hand:)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And last, but not least some visitors
to my backyard this morning.
The BlueJays were feasting this morning.
They must have called a corporate meeting:)
I counted 17 out there at one time, but
couldn't get them all in one picture.
 And then Woody Woodpecker
came and scared all the Jays away.
Don't forget you should be able to click on
each picture to get a better view.
Well that's it for April...
see you in May :)
??Dining Room = Greenhouse??
It's official... Over the past week, my
 Dining Room had become a greenhouse!!!
But as of yesterday all these wonderful
plants found a new home in the garden...
where they actually belong!!!
Hopefully in a few weeks I will be sharing
pictures of an abundantly growing garden:)
And in a few months pictures
of all kinds of canned fruits & veggies:)
Hugs & Blessings,
Terry
A Sunday Stroll...
Today has turned out to be a beautiful day.
Just a bit of a chill in the air, but still a beautiful day.
I thought I would invite you to take a stroll around
my yard with me, and get a peek at what is going on around here.
Flowers from the front of my house.
We have some early bloomers
due to the very early warm spell we had.
And in the backyard the Goldfinch
                                     have returned for dinner.
                                    I Love watching the birds.
                                   Their colors are so brilliant!
                                   I have been blessed to have many
                                 different birds visit my yard.
                               Their songs are so sweet
                                and they bring me much joy.
At the garden, these young ladies decided to take a short cut...
They are welcome to cut through,
but once the garden is planted and growing
they best not decide to snack on anything...
or my Thanksgiving bird will be a freeby this year!!!
(Don't forget you can click on the pictures to enlarge for better viewing)
Hope you are having a blessed Sunday
and that the coming week is filled with much joy.
Hugs,
Terry
Snow People Quilt Top
I finally got the snow people all together
to make this adorable quilt:)  This was such
a fun swap...I am so very glad that I decided
to be a part of it.  HUGE thanks to Rosa for organizing
the swap and to all the ladies that took part:)
Love all the blocks!!!
Now to decide for sure how to finish it....
I'm thinking white buttons on each corner stone
 and hand quilting around each snow person ...
Any other thoughts?????
I have done some other sewing...
But I can't share it yet, because it is for the
Row by Row swap, and those have to remain secrets
until they get back to their owners.
This is my first Row by Row Swap.
I am looking forward to seeing the finishes.
Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderfully blessed weekend.
Hugs,
Terry
