What's Been Going On Here...

The view from my back door.
The Fall colors are beautiful,
and the cool, crisp, clean air is amazing!!!
We even had some frost last week.

This morning I went out to feed and found
these adorable little babies in the small barn.
Yes, more kittens...we had planned to get Miss Ivy fixed
but we did not get it down before she came back in heat.
I believe a visit to the vet will be her Christmas gift.

And here are a couple sewing projects I have done...
The Mug Rug above and a reversible apron below.

But mostly I have just been enjoying the beautiful Fall scenery and weather!!!

Blessings,
Terry

Friday Night Sew In...

For the last 3 Friday Nights I have been
taking part in a 24 hour Sew In.
I belong to a Facebook Group and every Friday night from 7 pm
until Saturday night 7 pm we group members get on Facebook and sew,
and share pictures and do a little chatting.
This group has been a great motivational tool for me.

Here are some of the things I have accomplished so far:

I have 3 Kids Cuddle Quilts done.

Several Kids Cloth Story Books.

And of course the Sew In wouldn't be complete without
a snack...my choice is a coke, Hershey's Chocolate and Peanut M&Ms
Doesn't get any better than that!!!

Hope everyone has a Blessed Weekend.

Hugs,
Terry

Baby Birds

Remember back a few weeks ago when I posted
that a pair of my Lady Gouldian Finches had paired off...

Then I posted a picture of their 5 little eggs...

Well here are the 3 babies that have survived.

They won't get their colors for quite a while yet,
but they are still pretty darn cute!!!

Looking forward to watching them grow.

Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

A Walk Around My Yard...

Happy September!!!
Just took a walk around the around the yard
and thought I'd share a few pictures...

Mums that are planted across the front of the house.
Think I need to add a few more this year.
The hope is that they will spread and I won't
need to do any weeding.

My precious Oreo getting ready for a walk.
He has such a sweet nature.

Two granddaughters walking the goats.
Not sure who enjoys this more, the girls,
or the goats, or me watching it all.

My little Lucy, she is such a loving little kitty.

Mr. Tiger is turning out to be quite the hunter and clown :)

Part of today's egg collecting.  I usually get
12- 14 eggs a day.  Love visiting with the my chicks
and my two roosters.

Last of this year's garden bounty.
The spaghetti and butternut squash did
amazingly well this year.

I do love my little "piece of the world"
as well as all of my animals.
God has richly blessed me.

Now that Garden season is over, I will
be getting back to some crafting!!!!

Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

Catch Up Time...Again

Wow, it has been almost a month since my last entry!!!
My sister-in-law pointed that out to me yesterday,
thank you Miss Janet :)
So here goes...it has been a busy month in many different directions.

First of all my brother is moving to Florida  :(
That in itself is very hard for me, we have not been apart
for many years, but I understand that he needs to make this move.
He has been raising Lady Gouldin Finches, but
he didn't they would make the move well
so he gave them to me....

So I have 9 of these little beauties.  I had not had them a week
when two decided it was time to mate...

So they have been separated and a nesting box set up.
The male did all the nest building.  I provided him with
coconut hair and he did a fine job.

Then the female laid 1 egg a day for five days.
They look like jelly beans :)

Now we wait for about 3 weeks and hopefully 5 little finches will hatch out!

My brother also gave me a pair of Cordon Blue Finches.

Now besides these cutie pie indoor birds, I also
was given a new rooster, Richard and 2 new hens.

They are now adjusting to their new home :)

Next up is updated pictures of the kittens

Miss Lucy

Simba

Tiger & Dot
So much fun watching them grow and play.
The other 5 have new homes :)

Now for the work part of the past month...
The Garden = Canning & Freezing...OH MY!!!

24 jars of salsa

32 jars of green beans

grape jelly, strawberry jelly, and peach butter

sweet pickle relish

41 bags of corn.

Still have banana peppers, butternut squash and spaghetti squash
to work on this week.  Then I'll take a couple weeks break...
then it will be applesauce and apple rings and apple pie filling.
Then after the first frost...persimmons!!!!

Oh and we also had a HUGE 2 day yard sale.
So nice to have gotten rid of a lot of stuff and
made a little $$$ too.

Well that catches me up on the last month.
Hoping soon to be back in the sewing room...
if I can remember where it is!!!
Glad you stopped by, hope to see you again soon :)

Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

In My Backyard....

Our newest Backyard animal...
Meet Wild Bill the jersey wooly bunny.
Yes his name fits him quite well.
He is a bit of a wild guy!!!

The temps have been on the hot end lately so
I thought my chickens deserved bit of a summer treat...

And my last picture of the day.
This was one of our beautiful sunsets.
Love sitting in the backyard watching all  my
animals and watching the sunset.

Have an awesome weekend :)

Hugs,
Terry

Busy July...Time to Catch Up

Seems as though the days just fly by faster and faster!!!
I had so much on my summer to do list, but I
have not accomplished anything yet...
No painting done
No yard sale done
No quilts done
No learning to use the new embroidery machine
or mid arm quilting machine.
But I do have the garden in and am beginning
to harvest some things here and there.
Zucchini is shredded and in the freezer
and the cucumbers are ready to become relish.

Thought I would share some pics from the past few weeks:

Some of grandsons decided to have a camp over at
grandma and grandpa's...OH MY!!!!!

They went from backyard camping to
down home redneck fun....

Redneck swimming pool, made from logs and a tarp

Then there was the visit to the redneck spa for a mud facial
They had way too much fun!!!!

********************************************************

Then we had day of some bounce house fun.

************************************************************

Now catching up with my backyard mini farm...

I have a new rooster who is named Alpha,
he is so sweet natured.  Really like him...

...and it did not take him too long
to turn a few of the girls heads :)

And last but not least...
The latest picture of our kittens and mamas.

Well that's it for now.
Now to get some of that "to do" list checked off.

Hugs,
Terry
