This is a kitchen gift set that I made for my Mom. It was actually her Christmas gift last year... but since I was lost in cyberpace for awhile, and didn't share any of last year's Christmas, I thought I would share it now :)
This set included a table topper, 2 placemats, 2 napkins, 2 potholders, 2 mug rugs(coasters), and 2 dish towels.
This was my first attempt at some of these things...poor Mom, she always seems to get my first tries LOL, some things never change :)
WOW, It's already the end of June...I need to start seriously thinking about Christmas gifts for this year...Yikes, time is flying!!!!!
Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

Fat Quarter Challenge
One of the quilt groups I belong offered a fat quarter challenge...the group owner sent everyone identical FQs. We were then to make anything our hearts desired with the fabric, and could of course add other fabric to complete the challenge. I made this little pillow and wall hanging. We get to keep what we made too!!!! This little challenge is what helped to get me back to my sewing machine:) So thankful to Marti for the challenge. Been sewing most of today :) Will hopefully be sharing about this "little" project soon.
Blessings,
Terry

I'm Baaack........
I cannot believe it has been 8 months since I blogged!!!!!
I'm not even sure what happened...life just got in the way and out of control.
Seems the older I get, the faster time goes, and I'm not liking that at all!
Well, we did have a wonderful Christmas last year;
I've turned a year older; and my garden is all planted :)
And the best thing of all - I have found a wonderful church
that I now call "my church home!'
My creative juices dried up for quite awhile,
but I'm forcing them to flow again.
So hopefully I will be sharing some pics soon....
not of completed work, but more like "works in progress."
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
"Happy Father's Day" to all the Dads out there.
The picture on this post is of my Dad and me many years ago.

Signs of Fall
My favorite season is Fall.
The colors, the smells, the cool crisp air...
there just isn't anything better.
So I'm sharing some of the signs of Fall in and around my area.
These awesome pictures are courtesy of God.
No one else could give so much color
and beauty to everything.

And last but not least, this is a tasty bowl of Pumpkin Ice Cream.
And yes I ate every last yummy bite of it. (I ate it all for you Mom, missed you visiting this year, but there will be another time. Love you.)

OH Yes, The Covered Bridge Festival!!!
Oh My...the annual Parke County Covered Bridge Festival, there's nothing better!
Beautiful crafts for sale,
Good food to eat,
Awesome scenery to gaze upon.
The Covered Bridge Festival is actually held in 3 towns in Parke County, Bridgeton, Mansfield, and Rockville. My choice is Bridgeton:)
This covered bridge, unfortunately is not the original. The original one was set on fire and destroyed by vandals. So this is the rebuilt one, but it is still so very beautiful.

In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

A Trip to Conner Prairie
Last week was our Fall Break so we took a couple short trips to places of interest here in Central Indiana. First was a trip back in time with a visit to Conner Prairie, a living history lesson:) The time period is 1823 - 1836. Most of the workers are dressed in clothing of that period and talk with words that my grandchildren were not quite sure of (lol), like cyphering and things costing 1 bit or 2 bits, and of course there is no such thing as cars, planes, computers, and cell phones. It was a wonderful day!
The first stop was at the Lenape (Delaware) Indian Camp. Where we met a man of actual Lenape descent, who told of his people's history and told a wonderfully colorful Lenape tale. He also taught us to say "Thank You" & "Your Welcome" in his native tongue. I wouldn't begin to know how to spell those two phrases, but I can say them:)
Next we moved on to the William Conner Homestead, which included the Conner home, weaving house, garden, and barn.
These 3 pictures are in the weaving house. There were 2 wonderfully sweet women there that shared so much with us. The items made there are used at Conner Prairie, either in the different homes or sold in the gift store.
I truly could have stayed and listened to them all day:)

The last section of our visit was to Prairietown.....

Scenes From the Past...
I have a passion for "old" things, maybe because I am getting older or maybe just because there is so much character and history in "old" things :) Whichever the case, on a recent drive through the country, my husband and I came upon several old homes, buildings and barns...and I couldn't resist taking a few pictures. Which means I'm sharing with all of you:) As I look at these I can't help but wonder what stories these old structures hold within their walls. I hope you enjoy your visit:)

Nature's Shelves
Walking around my brother-in-law's property I came across this set of "Nature's Shelves"
Thought I would share the pics with my Blog family and friends:)
They are some type of mushroom, I think????
But they sure look like shelves or steps going right up the tree:)

September Secret Pal Gift
My dear Secret Pal sent me this gift package for September:) The towels will fit right in my new kitchen decor...chickens/farms. The beautiful fall fabric may very well find it's way to my kitchen also. The little wall hanging pillow is in my sewing room and the jelly beans.....uuummm they are all gone!!! The "Rest in Him" card is on my bulletin board over my computer, that way I see it everyday to give me a gentle reminder:) She always finds such wonderful items to surprise me with:) I also received 2 other cards from her in September; one of which was sent while she vacationing near Cancun!!!! Can't wait to hear all about her trip...
Hugs,
Terry
