Just Couldn't Help Myself....

I'm a cat person so I had to share this one :)

I've been to several Amish communities,
but I've never seen this.

OH Yes!!!!
That would be me :)

LOL

Yep...that's me!

I know this for a fact.

Hope these brightened your day
 and brought a smile to your face.

This Week's Gifts

WOW, WOW, WOW
So many wonderful gifts received this week!!!

First I opened this package from my wonderful Dear Jane Secret Pal...
the green fabrics are beautiful, the pink coin purse is so pretty, and she
even started it with a shiney penny :)  The scissor FOB, she made
and it has my initial on it, she did an excellent job!  She does digi
card making and scrapbooking and I am lucky enough to receive a
sample of her work each month, so very pretty:)
As always I so enjoyed reading her note that she includes,
 makes me feel like I'm getting to know her...
even though I don't know who she is, and won't until December!

This little cutie is from Mary over at Friendship Blocks.
I received this little Mug Rug from her for the Spring Swap.
I love it, so colorful and it's a cat, so what's not to love???

Dear Deanna made this hot pad for me for a friendship swap
on a Snail Mail group I belong to, and she sent the extra surprise
of all the wooden spoons!  Such a sweet lady, she is:)
The colors are a perfect match for my kitchen!

And these sweeties are from my sweety:)
Meet Sprite (yellow & green) and Mr. Squawkers (blue & white).
They are a belated Birthday gift from my dear husband.
Anyone who knows me very well, knows that I love birds as much as I love cats.
I haven't had any birds for many years, and I have missed hearing
their sweet songs echoing through my house.  These guys
have already brought me so much joy & they haven't even been here for a week:)
Mr. Squawkers will already sit on my finger:)
Speaking of cats...my silly cats seem to be a little afraid of our
new additions...they have lived such sheltered lifes, too funny.

And to finish up my week of gifts...
A Gift From God:
We had a pretty good storm go through last night,
no damage, just a typical Spring thunderstorm.
And this was given to us after the storm passed.

This has been an awesome week,
 filled with many many blessings
and so very much accomplished.

God's Love, Peace & Blessings to all of you.

Hugs,
Terry

Papercrafting Projects...

I did manage to get all my card swaps done and mailed.
That was a HUGE accomplishment this month
Here are the cards:

All done for this month...
Next month...Yikes!!!!
To many great swaps offered,
I may be in trouble :)

Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

Sewing Projects....

I was able to get some sewing time in this past week,
and complete the swaps/gifts I needed to finish,
and make something for myself:)

This is the Spring Mug Rug that I made for a swap.
The pink & white block is called  a "Pink & White Kite"
and the side strip of triangles is a variation of the "Flying Geese" block.
I thought both were appropriate for a "Spring" themed swap,
along with the very springy background fabric.

Made this little hot pad or candle mat
for another gift swap.  I wanted to do some hand work...
so I decided to add the embroidery work to this one:)

Made this for St. Patrick's Day
to go with this:
I made the table topper several years ago
from a Irish block swap I was in:)

Hope you are able to get some stitching done this weekend:)
Thanks for stopping by, I have lots more to add to my blog,
so be sure to check back over the weekend:)

Hugs,
Terry

Spring Has Sprung...

Just stopped by to wish everyone
Happy First Day of Spring

                                  ~Picture borrowed from a Facebook friend

The calendar says it's the First Day of Spring
But, Here in Indiana it feels more like
the First Day of Summer...
Our high today is to be around 85F.
Makes me wonder what Summer will be like?????

Love & Hugs,
Terry

Row by Row Swap

I have never participated in a Row by Row Swap before
and to be quite honest I was a little hesitant...
But I decided to give it a try!

The idea is to pick a theme for yourself and make the first row,
then send it to the next person on the list.
They add a row following your theme and send it on.
There are a total of 7 ladies in the swap this year,
so everyone will end up with 7 rows to put
together as they see fit.  Sounds like great FUN, don't you think?

My theme is "The Northwest".
Cabins, bears, canoes, pine trees, etc.

I made my center block first:

Then I extended the ground and sky a wee bit
and then made two pine tree blocks for each side.

Last but not least I made two different, but alike corner blocks:

Then I sewed my blocks together to make my row...

Now I will mail this row on for others to add to:)
I should be receiving two rows to add my creativity to
later this week.  I know the theme for one is Patriotic
using red, white & blue.  And the other is Owls using
bright colors.  Loving this group:)

Thanks for stopping by.
I hope everyone is enjoying some wonderful creativity this week:)

Terry

February Leftovers!!!

Ooops...Forgot some February finishes and gifts...
The above are the little coasters that I made for a friendship gift.
They are the first hexagons I had ever made...really fun to make,
so they may become my new "take -a- long" projects,
you know those things you take with you to work
on when you're waiting, and waiting, and waiting...

Next is the lovely friendship gift I received
from a very sweet lady, named Peggy:)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Received this awesome card from Robin
over at the card swap group:)
I love this card!!!
This had to take some time to make.
I received this little "Explosion Box"
in a card swap also, too cute :)
The ladies at this group are so talented.
This is the Explosion Box that I made.
When you open it the message is on the bottom of the box.  I had a little trouble getting my mind wrapped around this concept, but once I got it made, I really liked it, so there will probaly be more in the making :)
Well that's it for February...
And March is going to be a busy busy month!
Ten or eleven card swaps, 2 quilt block swaps,
2 sewing friendship swaps, and my month
to teach Children's Church:)
Lovin' Life!!!
Sharing My Birthday
Yes, today is my Birthday and I thought I would
share pics of some of my gifts :)  Sharing pics not my age!!!
The above picture is all the beautiful cards and notes I received.
Love them all, so nice to receive the cards, most of which
 had handwritten messages too :)
These beautiful flowers are from my middle
daughter and her children:)
These lovely flowers are from my
oldest daughter and her family.
I really love getting flowers for my birthday,
especially since February in Indiana isn't really
 very colorful or pretty!  The flowers really brighten my day :)
My wonderful Mother gave me these two necklaces.
The smaller one has an amethyst, which is my birthstone.
Both are very very pretty, the picture just doesn't do them justice.
My dear sister-in-law gave me these wonderful gifts.
Love all the purple fat quarters, so very pretty.
The bird candle holder is gorgeous when lit, and the M&Ms
well they were delicious!!!!!
And these pretty fat quarters came from the Birthday Swap ladies
over at the Friendship Block Group.  There's one from Canada,
(she also sent me small squares of fabric to remind of Canada)
and two from Australia :)  Quilter's are sure a very loving and
and caring and giving breed of people.
And my awesome family are also loving, caring, giving people...
My children, grandchildren, cousins, and dear husband, Love them all,
 got together and gave me a very Yummy birthday dinner
on Saturday evening.  Spaghetti, Manacotti, Salad, Garlic Bread
 and a Chocolate Bundt Cake...doesn't get any better than that!!!!
"Thank You" to all my family and friends
for making this a very
Happy Birthday for me.
And Thank You Jesus for giving me another fabulous year.
Love , Hugs, Blessings,
Terry
