This Year's Garden

My garden got off to a little bit of a late start this year,
and quite honestly I'm really amazed that is doing so
well...with all the rain we have had, I'm surprised it
isn't floating!!!!  Today after a little weeding, I decided
to take a picture or two:)

When I turned to go back to the house, I saw that I had
been being watched... Our resident raccoon, Missy, was watching me from the bush at the backdoor.  She was actually waiting to be fed:)
She is quite the little character.  As soon as she hears my voice, she appears, ready to eat.

Thanks for stopping by and visiting.
Blessings to All,

Terry

After the Storm

First of all you are in the right place...I just did some blog updating and cleaning.  Found this background and loved it, so this is "Terry's Life" new look.

Yesterday we had another one of our wind & rain storms.  Seems we are in the "let it storm everyday" habit.  I know that is par for the course in some places, but not usually here in Indiana.  My goodness it is so wet and humid, yuck!  After the storm yesterday it was a little eerie looking for awhile.  The sky had that greenish-yellow look, and then the sun started to come out.  That's when I got this picture...

And then this picture...

Still eerie looking, but pretty at the same time.  We ended up having a double rainbow, but the second one was so faint that I couldn't get a good picture.

Terry

Sewing Projects This Month:)

This is a little sewing room wall hanging I have been piecing
and embellishing.  Now all I have left to do is sandwich and quilt.  Won't be too long I hope and then I can call it a Finish!!!!
These yummy blocks are for a block exchange on a quilt group I belong to.  The swap is titled Novelty Foods Block Swap.  I think these fit the description. LOL
Not a lot of sewing going on right now.  Been busy with card swaps and the garden, and of course the decluttering, rearranging, cleaning out of my house!!!!  Slow process, but I'm making some headway:)  Hoping to get to some sewing this weekend:)  Be sure to stop back by.

Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

Card-Making This Month

I have been pretty busy this month making cards and ATCs.  Since I have joined 3 Card Swap Groups, I am staying busy with the paper crafting:)  Love it, just another way to express myself.  Anyway I thought I would share some of my work.

Then I started working on some Holiday cards and ATCs (Artist Trading Cards):

And then I made some "just for fun" ATCs:

Hope you have enjoyed your visit with me and my card-making today.
Come back again soon!

"Good Things" in My Life

Today's pictures are some
of the "Good Things" in life.

This picture is of some kind of Oriental Lily,
I think...the little identifying stick is
gone and I am terrible at remembering
the names of all the flowers *grin*.

Now I am pretty sure these are
Day Lilies, but I could be wrong. LOL
All I really know for sure is that I love the beauty of flowers
and it really doesn't matter to me what their names are!

And I saved the best for last....

My dear, dear grandchildren made these delicious snacks.
We have Reese's Peanut Butter cups with a dollop of
Cool Whip on them, and Mint Girl Scout cookies.  And no fancy
snack would be complete without the chocolate syrup drizzle.
Too much food channel being watched here I think *very big grin".

Thanks for visiting today.  I hope everyone has a wonderfully blessed day.

Hugs,
Terry

May Secret Pal Gift Arrived:)

Today's mail brought these wonderful gifts from my Secret Pal.
She is just completely spoiling me, I may never be the same:)
The wonderful large size notepad and pen are right here beside me at my computer.
The wind chimes are hanging in my dining room, the cross is hanging on my bulletin board in my sewing room, and the flower seeds are ready to be planted this evening, after it cools down.  And the book is by my chair to begin reading this evening:)
All my lovely gifts were wrapped in the fabric, which of course will be put to good use, and the ribbon will probably find its way on to one of my cards, or a scrapbook page.
Whoever my Secret Pal might be, really seems know me, because every month my package is filled with "me" things.
Can't wait to find out who she is, but December is a long way off .  So for now I am so very much enjoying my journey with her:)  She certainly knows how to bring a smile to my face.
My Hugs and God's Blessings to Her.
Terry

*  Little footnote about the wind chimes:  The stone on it is a Rose Quartz.  The box said that the Rose Quartz can also be called the heart stone, as it is said to open the heart to give and receive love.  Isn't that awesome!!!!

Weekend Accomplishments

This past weekend was a "No Sewing" weekend :(
But I did get some card-making done:)
Thought I would share what I did.

This week will be a "No Crafting" week...
I have to get my sewing/craft room re-organized.
I can't take the mess and clutter any longer.
So if you don't hear from me, you might want to send out the troops,
because I'm probably lost in the craft room jungle. (LOL)

Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

International Siggy Arrived:)

This siggy from Almut K. of Germany arrived over the weekend.  She enclosed the lovely postcard with it, showing some of the architecture of her land, and of course a little note, telling me a little about her.  I thought the postcard was a wonderful idea :)

Newest Backyard Visitor

Today brought a new visitor to my backyard.  This Red-winged Blackbird finally got brave enough to come up to the feeder.  My feeder is only about 10 feet from the backdoor.  I've seen a few of them in the field this year, but this is the first I've seen at the feeder.  If you click on the picture, to enlarge it, you can that it looks like he is chattering at me :)

This picture is of a sweet little Dove, that must have thought she was pretty well camouflaged, deep inside my Blue Spruce tree.  She didn't even flinch as walked up and snapped the picture!

Psalm 23

The Lord is my Shepherd...that's a Relationship!
I shall not want...that's Supply!
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures...that's Rest!
He leadeth me beside the still waters...that's Refreshment!
He restoreth my soul...that's Healing!
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness...that's Guidance!
For His namesake...that's Purpose!
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death...that's Testing!
I will fear no evil...that's Protection!
For thou art with me...that's Faithfulness!
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me...that's Discipline!
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies...that's Hope!
Thou annointest my head with oil...that's Consecration!
My cup runneth over...that's Abundance!
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life...that's Blessing!
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord...that's Security!
Forever...that's Eternity!

I have never seen or heard Psalm 23 explained so simply, or in such an understandable beautiful way.  A fellow blogger allowed me to copy this from her blog, Thank you very much Pam.

My Yard Scenery Is Still Changing...

Three sides of our property are bordered with these beautiful Locust trees, (can't remember if they are Honey Locust or Black Locust),  But this time of year they are so very pretty and smell so sweet.
Standing underneath the trees and looking up
through the flower laden branches, gives
a whole new perspective :)

Next is the bird feeder, which has now
been taken over by the Goldfinches and Purplefinches:)

Little Sassy has found a perch from which to view the world... Never did see him get up there, so I don't know for sure how he did it, But he certainly is happy up there.

And of course my visit wouldn't be complete without some flowers to look at :)  These bright pink darlings are some type of azalia, I think.  I love looking at flowers and taking care of them, but I'm not real good with the names of different flowers.  I planted these about 6 years ago.  It was in a little 10" diameter pot...It has gone wild!!!!!

And these little blue beauties, well they just showed up this year?????  I didn't plant them, they just grew!!!!!  For all I know they may be weeds, but if they are weeds, they sure are pretty weeds (LOL)  They close up around 5:00pm and then open up in the morning.

Thanks once again for visiting with me.  I hope you had a nice relaxing visit.  Don't forget you can click on the pictures to enlarge them, to get a better view:)
Take care, and don't forget to take the time to stop and smell the roses, once in awhile.

Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

Prom Night

Today is Prom Day for  our "Baby Girl".
Yes, this is our baby, Emma-lee.  The first picture is before her date arrived.

Next was the picture of her trying to get his flower on him...
after many tries, breaking the pin , and bending a couple other
pins, she decided to have Mom do it!!! (LOL)

Once the flowers were all in place it was time to leave.

Well, this makes 6 kids - 6+ Proms.
No more Proms!
4 Weddings done - 2 Weddings to go.
All the kids are grown...
New chapter of our lives beginning.

Hugs & Blessings,

My Accomplishments For The Week...

I didn't get  an April UFO finish, but I did get a few things going this week.  Besides working outside :)

I was able to get these cards made using  photographs.  That was the guideline for one of this month's swaps.  Not one of my favorites, but they are done and ready to use:)
The butterfly one is my favorite of the two.

I also made some more ATCs.  I really like these mini cards.

And last but not least, I made these blocks for an upcoming Block Swap.

I have all the pink ones done, but still have several of the blue ones to finish.
I plan to do lots of sewing this weekend.
And I hope everyone gets lots of stitching,
card-making, gardening, or whatever
it is that makes you happy, done this weekend:)

Hugs, Blessings, and Much Productivity To Everyone,
Terry

More Cool Quilty Mail....

This week I received some more "quilty" mail, isn't that the best kind *grin*
I received these two wonderful blocks as a thank you for the swap I am hosting on a group I belong to:)  I'm thinking they just might make nice corner blocks:)

I also received a very pretty siggy from Gina in Indiana.  She's new to the International Siggy Group.  She's also new to quilting...Looks like she is fitting in just fine!!!

Hugs & Blessings,
Terry

In My Yard, Again :)

My Lily of the Valley has bloomed!
I just love the cute little bell shaped flowers.
This world that God created never
ceases to amaze me.

Our raccoon, Missy, is back again this year :)  She's not really ours, but she eats here, brings her babies up to eat each spring, and makes her presence known.
She has been visiting us for 4 or 5 years now.  I really enjoy watching her, and her babies.  If I don't take food to her by about 6:00pm she will come to the back door, and sits and waits for me!!!!  Then runs ahead of me to her feeding spot.

This next picture is one of her young from last year.  They don't eat together, Missy will actually attack her babies if they try to eat while she is at the food.  My grandson named this one Batman!!!!

That's all the nature pictures for now, hope you enjoyed the visit:)

Hugs,
Terry
